Stressed concrete

Stressed concrete refers to a construction method where internal stresses are introduced to concrete members (like beams or slabs) before they are subjected to any external loads. This technique helps counteract the natural weakness of concrete in tension and significantly increases the strength and durability of concrete structures. There are two main types of stressed concrete: prestressed concrete and post-tensioned concrete.
